January 21, 2012 - Singing for a Cause Practice and Birthday Surprise for Cedric.
This post is super late, but i finally had time to write about it. So here ya go!
The day started off with Angelica, Nariel and I went shopping early in the morning for all the birthday stuff. Cake, decorations, balloons, stuff for the card and whatever else.
First stop, Michael’s. There we wanted to find things that we could put on the card to make it look cool. We hella just got random stuff. Oh yeah, we found this like styrofoam ”Princess” thingy and we wanted to be funny and put it on the front of the card. So it said, “Happy Birthday Princess Cedric!” hahaha oh man, so priceless. And to add on to that princess theme, we found foam crowns! We got him a gold one and its a 500k crown.. :P Then we also found him this hella awesome Star Wars poster! It was the first generation too and had both bad and good guys on it! Super cool.
Second stop, Dollar Tree. Hahaha yesss, we went hella cheap. Forreal though, we ain’t rich! Shooooottt. But there we got all the decorations and balloons. We started off by getting the balloons. I think we got him a regular happy birthday one, a princess one (of course!), a spiderman one, and then two other ones with i cant seem to remember, but thats okay. We also got hats, candles, and banners. For the cake, we wanted to put like something on it so we found this disney characters and picked Cinderella and Donald Duck… we wanted it be as if he was getting married, but it was his birthday! hahahah
Third stop, Safeway. Finally got the cake and ice cream. We were hella deciding between ice cream cake OR cake and ice cream… but it seemed to be an easy choice when we saw the price and of course cake and ice cream, separated, is a lot cheaper then together. lol
Forth stop, Lindsey’s House. We finally got to Lin’s house and brought all the stuff in and started to plan out on where to put things and how the plan was gonna go down. (Ill explain later how it went down, the surprise. Lol) Then we had to arrange Lindsey’s living room to have a big enough space to practice the dance. Forreal though, all three of us girls were men moving those couches and other furniture. Especially this one couch. Omg, that seemed impossible to move, but we got it. haha After we set up everything we just chilled and then a little bit later, Angelica and Lin went to go buy some drinks cause we realized that no one volunteered for that soooo that was our job, well Lin’s cause she bought it. While they were gone, Nariel and I stayed back to work on Cedric’s card, which we made look like a book and put everyone’s personal happy birthday cards that Nariel had us write the day before. The card turned out great though! I was so happy with it.
When everybody got to the house, we had our usual practice for Singing for a Cause. It turned out great. Finally finished all the choreography. After practice was done, TIME FOR THE SURPRISE!
The plan was… Lindsey asked Nariel and she asked Cedric to go with her to Lin’s car to get the utensils and drinks and while the went out, right as soon as they went out the door, most of us ran to and grabbed all the stuff that we bought that day and set up everything. And swear, we did everything in like less than 5 mins. When they came in we had to keep talking so that Cedric wouldnt think of anything and right as he opened the door we yelled, “SURPRISE!!!” hahah it was awesome! And we sang “Happy Birthday” and we were all like “speech speech!!” he didnt even know what to say though and it was forreal a bit awkward at one point but so funny. He was super happy that we did this for him and we were able to add on to the best birthday for him. And not only that, it was his 18, so even better.
